Give-A-Kid-A-Christmas

The Christmas Program started in 1993, and now helps provide Christmas for disadvantaged families who live in Holt or have a student attending Holt schools. Give-A-Kid-A-Christmas has helped hundreds of parents provide great memories for their children, ages 0-18 years old. In 2021, we served over 575 children across 255 families with gifts and new clothing items. That means that over 500 children were able to return to school after the holiday break knowing they were remembered at Christmas just like their peers. (and with the confidence of a new outfit)
How to Receive Help
CLOSED: 2022 Christmas Support Sign-Up Form
Note, the deadline to sign up for this program was Friday, December 2nd, 2022.
This program is for all children who qualify, ages 0 to 18 years (even teenagers, as long as they are still in high school or the high school’s early college program). Note, the person signing up the child(ren) must be either the primary custodial parent or the legal guardian.
To qualify you must either live at an address inside the Holt/Dimondale School District OR have at least one child that attends a Holt/Dimondale school. You must also be able to show that you meet the program’s income guidelines.
Even if you have engaged with Give-A-Kid Projects recently, it’s important that you fill out this information in full so that we can provide the best support for the children on your list this holiday season.
After this form is submitted, the next step will be a board member calling you to schedule an appointment to show the required proofs at our headquarters location in Holt. Your sign-up process is not completed until you have shown the required proofs at that agreed-upon appointment time.
Distribution of your items will be on Thursday, December 15th at Holt United Methodist Church on the Corner of Cedar & Aurelius in Holt, MI.
** Be sure to mark December 15th in your calendar! **
All applications REQUIRE the following proofs to ensure applicants meet the program’s income requirements.
- Picture I.D. (Valid Driver’s License or State Identification card)
- Proof of current address (property tax receipt, lease agreement, utility bill)
- Paperwork to verify income for ALL adults 18 & older in the home
- DHS case number, DHS Caseworker name, and direct phone number OR proof that the children receive free/reduced-price school lunches OR proof that the children qualify for Medicaid
- Medicaid/insurance card OR birth certificate OR Social Security card to verify children 17 & under in the home
- If you do not live in the Holt School District, then you must bring proof that your child attends a Holt/Dimondale school or that at least one child within your home attends a Holt/Dimondale school (current report card, current school ID, signed statement from the school, etc.)
