In August of 2003 the Backpack program began. That year 50 backpacks were distributed to children in need. In 2020, even during the uncertainty caused by Covid-19, we distributed 214 backpacks, and have provided more than 2300 backpacks to date.

Not only do we provide backpacks and grade-appropriate school supplies for students in the Holt School District who are entering Pre-K through 12th grade, but each student also receives a new outfit and a pair of new shoes to start school. Having these items gives students increased self-worth as they start the school year with the same advantages as their peers. While we were unable to provide outfits and shoes in 2020, we hope to continue that tradition in 2021.

Thank you to our 2020 Sponsors
